There are countless hotspots available that will support DMR, YSF, Fusion, DSTAR, NXDN, P25, etc…
For less than $50.00 for many, all over Ebay. Look for the MMDVM hotspots, that plug onto a Raspbberry Pi-W, or Raspberry Pi 3b. And multiple case and display modes available as well. You can also do crossmodes, like DMR to YSF-Fusion, and between all the other modes (EXCEPT DSTAR). The only hotspot available today that will support cross modes to and from DSTAR is the SharkRF Open Spot 3, but they are very expensive, at nearly $400.00 with shipping. But it does have multiple other attractive features, like an integrated battery that lasts for at least 10 hours. Very handy if your going mobile or portable. I have well over a dozen different hotspots of all flavors, as I try them all out to compare their features against the others, and 99% of them are exactly the same, except for the display or case being used. So the bottom line is, you can’t go wrong with ANY of them. But just like cars, there are plenty of options available, depending on your personal needs. Please feel free to ping me if you want to drill deeper into any of these specs or options, or if you should need any assistance getting them configured. The Transtar Dstar repeater was shut down on December 31st 2020, so using your hotspot is the best option at this time. See you on the Dstar Amsat REFSAT Module C very soon.
