The iCom iC7200 is a great radio, especially for digital modes.  It has its own 
sound card.

I'd strongly suggest staying away from a single band radio. Many good
used 10-160m +6m 100W radios out there in the $300-$700 dollar range
Watch for something like a Yaesu FT-450 or ICOM 706MKIIG on the used market
