Cameron,
As per your e-mail, I did talk to Dan several weeks ago about the donation. Dan
and I discussed several things about the 94 repeater and several possible
upgrades that have been discussed for the future. Dan mentioned to me several
possibilities as well on connecting the new repeater to a group of repeaters he
has for a larger coverage area. During the conversation I did mention to Dan
that there is no Internet connection at the site and there are other issues at
the site that I will not discuss here.
I do not remember if I mentioned to Dan or not but I do know you are aware that
the 94 repeater belongs to the Pasadena Radio Repeater Society with Robert
Polinski as the trustee. As I mentioned to Dan in our conversation, I would
call Robert and discuss it with him. I did talk to him a few days later but no
conclusion was made at that time and Robert and I agreed to get back for
discussion in the near future. Due to Robert's and I schedule, we have not had
a chance to get back together and talk about it further.
I will get with Robert and discuss it with him again but as I mentioned to Dan,
there are some issues at the site. I know Robert would hate to accept the gift
and then due to his schedule and/or the tower site issues, not be able to
utilize the new equipment for weeks or even months.
In talking to Robert, he really appreciated the offer of a band new repeater.
He did feel that it could become a solid anchor for the network that Dan was
discussing.
So either Robert or I will contact you or Dan by this weekend to let you know.
You can give me a call if you have any questions.
