It's a total rush for sure! That being said, operating the ISS repeater is a 
challenge. Normally 5W with a yagi is about all you need for the birds. For 
this one, there is so much mutual interference, that to break through and 
capture the FM signal, people keep cranking up the power. That's bad for the 
radios on the satellites and just bad practice overall. Hate to say it is what 
it is, but yeah...

I can not wait to get the QSL card! If there's a chance to meet him in person 
here in Houston to sign the card too, so much the better!

I have an arrow antenna you're welcome to when you get back. It doesn't have a 
built in duplexer, so you'd have to pick one of those up to make the most use 
out of it. That would be about $65 (http://www.arrowantennas.com/main/10w.html) 
but half the cost of a new one for sure.
