Somebody around here likely knows the fun channels to monitor around Port of Houston, Galveston Bay, etc. I think a lot of kayak fishermen just use FRS/GMRS, though they may keep a marine VHF radio in the boat in case they get in trouble on the water... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *From:*BVARC <bvarc-boun...@bvarc.org> on behalf of Christopher Boone via BVARC <bvarc@bvarc.org> *Sent:*Monday, January 16, 2023 7:11 PM *To:*BRAZOS VALLEY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB <bvarc@bvarc.org> *Cc:*Christopher Boone <setxtele...@gmail.com>; Darren Harrison <w5...@outlook.com>; Tom Watson <k5qb....@gmail.com> *Subject:*Re: [BVARC] Marine frequency wanted Encryption is not used in Part 80 Marin So lots to listen to 🥲 Chris WB5ITT On Mon, Jan 16, 2023, 6:30 PM Darren Harrison via BVARC <bvarc@bvarc.org> wrote: Yes, you can unless it’s encrypted, but you probably wouldn’t hear that anyway.
