To me its the FTdx10 for one simple reason. It has the second best receiver in radio according to Sherwood Engineering's receiver test data. http://www.sherweng.com/table.html
The menu layout was changed for the FTdx10 and newer Yaesu radios so it isn't that bad anymore. Regardless I can forgive any number of quirks for a good receiver. After all nobody makes the "perfect radio" but if I can't hear them I can't work them. Full disclosure I use an FTdx10 in my shack, and three Icom IC-7100s for ARES/RACES use in my mobile, go-kit and a spare that I use for VHF/UHF in the shack that backs up the dx10nas needed.
