this has all been discussed in board meetings for decades.we are limited on
the amount of reflectors on our current server..
Two years ago I set up at my own expense two reflectors on a differentserver..
so we could send out one way stuff (primarily marketing)...
I did advise Mike and the board..
couple weeks ago, two years later, Mike calls me and asks about the marketing
Reflector.. Its gone.. I paid to set it up but no one showed any interest
fortwo years, nor do we have a web committee to support it. So i let it
expire...
Wishing for these changes will not make it happen..Just like the 2022 patches
that were approved, Just like the LIFE MEMBER BADGES (is this staying current
or happening at all?)
Now we are losing the annual awards banquet..?? A tradition for at least 40
years...
if we had committees it would take the load off of Mike..

I second your motion Lee. This should be taken up immediately and executed.
Furthermore a second email list server should be created that is outgoing only.
The second server needs to prohibit replies from all. This needs to be done so
if a member wishes to receive official club business only without commentary
and opinions they can do so. The original list server can be kept for all other
2 way communication. And if someone gets tired of all the opinions just
unsubscribe from that list server without missing official club communication.

Oh, my goodness….
This is the same nonsense I replied to a month ago, and it has started AGAIN!
All because of a dislike of Mike Hardwick and a $3 frickin PATCH… For real, if
you want a THANK YOU FROM BVARC patch, I will make up a bunch of them on my
Ricoma and send you one. There are bigger issues in life than being pissed for
lack of recognition for volunteering.
I AM a member of the club. A LIFE member, in fact. I would like to make a
motion, through whatever mechanism is open to me, that the email reflector only
be open to current, dues-paying members. SECOND?
I understand you want to keep an open forum. That is all well and good. Keep it
for the actual membership.
Non-members should not be allowed to stir up crap like this on a personal level
and make the whole club look bad to the public! Seriously, don’t you folks see
that?
Bottom line: Mike ran, he won. You folks did not. You rage quit. You all sound
like bitter Dem’s after Trump won the election. This is truly embarrassing.
Sorry, Anthony. You know I love ya’ (and your better half) to death…. I would
mobilize all my personal EMCOMM resources to assist you if needed. But for
G_d’s sake, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, let this go, brother. Same to the rest of the
non-member’s with all the angst an bitterness.

First I will say this, I am not a member anymore. The reasons are my business
and I will not air them on this reflector. The next thig I will say is that
this is the best place to get you voice heard by the club, because trying to be
heard in other ways just gets it swept under the rug. I would have to agree
with Michael M. The issue is we (the board of 2023) voted on something and it
did not get done. It is now 2025 and the volunteers for 2023 hamfest did not
get the thank gift we approved.
I dont see this as being disrespectful or abusive behavior. I also don't think
the club should reprimand or suspend anybody in the club that is just is trying
to be heard by the whole club. Again this is the best place to get that done.
In no way is this an attack on leadership. It's a way to let the club help
leadership fix the issue by getting their opinion on the issue.

I also agree this is not the correct forum for such disagreement. Those should

All,
I am new to this club and did volunteer each of the three days of the Hamfest
event and had a great time. I do not yet know very many people in this club,
however after seeing this email, I would like to make a recommendation that
anyone using this email service to disparage, attack or bully another person in
the group, that person should be reprimanded suspended or removed from the
club. There should be no tolerance for abusive behavior or disrespect within
this group.
Kindest regards,
Greg Pendley

Subject: [BVARC] Greater Houston Hamfest
Attending this year's hamfest was an eye-opening experience, and it drove home
just how incredibly fortunate we are to have dedicated volunteers. My deepest
gratitude goes out to EVERY SINGLE volunteer—those of you who put in your heart
and soul this year and those who have done so in the past.
However, I am absolutely INFURIATED to discover that numerous volunteers (if
not all) from 2023 have STILL not received their small thank you gifts from
BVARC! Despite countless attempts to rectify this ridiculous oversight, they
remain empty-handed. This was meant to be a straightforward gesture of
appreciation, mind you, one that the board approved and entrusted to the
president to execute! It’s beyond comprehension that after all the hard work
and unwavering dedication these individuals displayed, they are left feeling
utterly disregarded!
If you haven’t received yours yet, you might be inclined to ask the president,
but honestly, that will probably lead you nowhere! This entire situation is
nothing short of UNACCEPTABLE! It may not seem like much, but I MUST say thank
you again to those who truly showed commitment. Without your INDISPENSABLE
dedication and tireless efforts, the Hamfest wouldn’t even stand a chance!
Attached is a photo of the gift that was supposed to be given, already
purchased with club funds. How is this okay?!
