Well, Rick, let me tell you! ;-) Time. I'ts all about time. With Slack/Hipchat/Teams/Google Chat/Discord, we can interact in real-time with everyone logged in.
I can ping the Net Coordinator about a question. I can answer the folks who missed a topic. Lots of fun. We can do the same things with the Reflector or Facebook, but don't get the "instant messaging" feedback.
