<https://www.harriscountycitizencorps.com/About/Partner-Organizations/CERT-Rodeo>
*Q: Who can participate?*
A: The IAP plan provides information for *AUXCOMM* participation in this
event.
All Amateur Radio Operators are invited to participate regardless of being
in ARES or any amateur radio groups or club.
*AUXCOMM* Operators will be assigned as part of the Communications Unit
under the command of the COML.
*We would like over 40 Volunteers for the 2026 CERT Rodeo *
*Q: What is amateur radio’s role in this event?*
A: *AUXCOMM* (Auxiliary Communications) will establish a directed net and
provide radio operators to communicate
between each of the event stations, the registration area, exhibitor
room, parking lots, the various CERT leaders, chiefs,
and incident command (IC).
* AUXCOMM* will provide operators for all functions and positions
designated in the ICS plan.
All field operators will use their own hand-held radio.
*Q: What are the hours of operation?*
A: *AUXCOMM* presence is requested from 0600 until about 1600 hours.
The 0600 time includes the communications trailer, parking,
volunteer check in and event leadership only.
All other positions do not need to arrive before 0700.
Parking Lot Gates open after 0600,
Assignments should be ready by 0730,
Opening Ceremony 0800,
Until the event finishes, usually 1500 (After Cleanup).
*Q: What are the Physical Levels of participation?*
A: There are several levels of participation to be as inclusive as possible.
Level 1 - Sedentary position requiring no physical exertion.
Level 2 - Primarily a fixed position with some limited movement
Level 3 - Positions requiring walking for 50% of the assigned work
period.
Level 4 - Positions requiring walking for 75% of the work period with
little time for rest.
Level 5 - Position requiring constant movement 100% of the time and no
time for rest.
I will be asking for more assistance on the Level 5 positions,
we will rotate out communicators during the day or when necessary.
*Q: Where are the assignments posted*

We need to make sure all required positions are filled first.
