Good Evening BVARC,

This is your official, highly calibrated, properly tuned reminder that the *BVARC General Meeting is TOMORROW at 7:00 PM.*

Not 7:12 after you finish adjusting the SWR.
Not 7:20 after “just one more contact.”
Not “whenever the net wraps up.”

*7:00 PM.* (That’s 1900 for those of us who like to sound official.)

📍 *Location:* TranStar – Houston
🗓 *Date:* February 12, 2026
⏰ *Time:* 7:00 PM sharp

Our very own *Rick Hiller, W5RH* will be presenting /“The Finer Points of Receiving Antennas.”/

You know… the part of the station that actually lets you hear something besides your own signal report.

We spend a lot of time perfecting transmit audio, polishing microphones, adjusting power output, and debating coax types like it’s a life decision. Meanwhile, the receive side quietly sits there wondering when it’s going to get some attention.

Tomorrow night is its night.

Expect discussion on special receive antennas, ways to tame noise, and how to improve what you’re hearing on the bands — especially when everyone else claims the rare DX is “booming in.”

If nothing else, you may finally discover that the mysterious buzz at exactly 8:03 PM is not the ionosphere… it’s your neighbor’s Christmas lights. In February.

Come early. Bring a fellow ham. Bring curiosity. Leave the excuses at home.

We’ll see you at 1900.

73,
Richard
