I believe there maybe an APRS mode for the Lora 915Mhz- based units, as well. Or maybe it was someone referring to Meshtastic’s ability to send text messages as being APRS-like. More research required.

I agree with Eddie, you should bring the LoRa device to a meeting or better yet, have the floor and tell the audience about your experience with this tech. I dabbled into MQTT, Mosquito I believe it was called, back about 6 years ago. It was part of a program in which my Arduino device pushed sensor data, temperature I believe, up to the cloud. It was a project I pursued in the IoT (internet of things) area. In any event, I’d be keen on finding out about your experiences with/this tech as a reminder. Also, you never know, it may motivate me to pursue a new project in this area. If you do give a presentation, or exposition, on this area, I’d appreciate it if the event was both in-person and ZOOM enabled. This way, in case some of us are out of town, we could remotely log in and participate. 73, Stephen (W2WF) > On May 11, 2026, at 11:10 AM, Eddie Runner via BVARC <[email protected]> wrote: > > You should bring it to a meeting, I am interested in learning more about it. > Eddie (NU5K) > On Monday, May 11, 2026 at 06:53:58 AM CDT, John Dugat via BVARC > <[email protected]> wrote: > > I don’t know if there’s a lot of interest in LoRa out there, but I thought > I’d at least ask.
