Hey all, I'll be opening up the shop by 9am tomorrow morning. Weatherman says 95 with heat index around 100, and by mid-afternoon in that building I think we'll have a good idea what a cake feels like in an Easy Bake Oven. I want to play with updating ALSA for those Compaq machines. If we get sound working, we should have enough machines (between the Compaq Deskpros and the stack of Dells Tony was working on last Saturday) to crank out the next batch of graduate machines in no time. Even if we change distros between now and then, having the hardware already sorted out (known drivers, working devices, etc) is 90% of the battle.
Besides, there is going to be some construction work going on over the next several weeks, as the new classroom area gets carpeted, and the assembly area gets, erm, assembled. It would definitely make life easier if we weren't scrambling for parts, tools, and the like, and I think we'd get the construction done faster, too, if they didn't have to work around the graduate machine building process. See you all tomorrow morning! Theresa ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Great things are happening at Yahoo! Groups.
