Now that I have fulfilled my Board's requirement of me I can express my own
thoughts and not have to tell them.

While all of the issues expressed in the previous email were legitimate
concerns I do not agree with the way I was made to present them.

I realize that there are some great people in this group and bear no bad
thoughts towards any of you. I wish all of you the best in your future
endeavors and role with BWorks.

There are many challenges that BWorks is facing. The main one I see is an
understanding that working with computers and within the scientific field is a
great thing and you all contribute heavily to making BWorks a success. However,
there needs to be more of an understanding that this does not always translate
well into non-profit management and its issues. A dual role that many of you
find yourselves in here at BWorks. The best way I can think of to clarify this
is to say that an administrator cannot walk into your workspace and tell you
how to program a computer neither can you necessarily approach an administrator
and tell them how to do fundraising, or management, or development, or any of a
myriad of other things. Also, there needs to be an understanding that, while
discussion is good in science it is not always good on the administration side.
There are many concerns businesses (for- and non-profit) must address in
today's business climate on any number of issues
that are not meant to be - and in many cases cannot be - openly discussed
within an organization and 99% of them are not in HR or Personnel.

Also, an understanding that being an administrator in a scientific department
is not the same as being an administrator in other departments. A scientist is
still a scientist.

Good luck everyone and sorry I had to leave in this manner.
