To put some perspective on those pages, creating and cloning images has
evolved quite a bit and those instructions have not necessarily kept
pace. That you have questions is not surprising. I am glad you are
asking them so that we can discover where we are lacking and make
improvements.

In practice, the "cloning computer" now means the Shop Server, which I
just overhauled on Tuesday. The Shop Server has most of the images we
use: student Debian, class Debian, class Edubuntu, class Windows, server
Ubuntu. What we don't have are images for the Adult class nor images
for the retail computer, two deficiencies that we really should remedy.

The Shop Server sits under the triage/repair table.

We could create a definitions page. Or we could put links right in the
page that go to wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_enclosure

or to a vender's product:

That's one of the things we do need to do is create an Overview. Not
only on each page but also for the entire workflow. For example, we
don't create student machines by installing Linux on a machine's hard
drive. Instead, we remove the existing drive and replace it with a
drive that already has our student Linux image cloned onto it.

I hope that answers at least some of your questions and clarifies things
a bit. If not, please feel free to ask more questions.

Also, feel free to modify the wiki pages. There's no such thing as
making a mistake on a wiki page. All edits can be undone.
