True.  It is questionable whether they engender a false sense of
security, though, which may be worse than no 'security features' at all.

Dunno.

I'd like to see it tried and tested.  If it works, and if there is
enough demand for it, then we can install it on the machines, either by
default or when requested.  Comments?  Suggestions?  Thrown vegetables?
