Robert, I assumed that the document in question was a blank form type of thing to be used to gather information, not one that had been actually completed. I agree that any such information that is gathered should be treated as confidential. So what does that mean? Can it be transmitted over the internet? Can it be stored on the internet? Who should be responsible for its security? To the best of my knowledge, the documents that are stored on the Staff group site are consistant with that level of security and the fact that we are an Non-profit organization. That is, password protected with password restricted to current volunteers. That is one reason I spend so much time trying to determine who the list members are and whether they are still active. This points up my concern that list members should not be allowed to sign on as anonymous "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" but should be required to identify themselves by their full name when they sign up. Subsequently they should be required to complete the volunteer roster form which includes e-mail address, street address, and phone number. Finally any who will be working directly with the children have to submit to a background check. I do not think the type of information that is implied in regard to students, can or should be posted to the Staff group site or any other on-line facility except in summarized form similar to census data - that is, summarized to the extent that no individuals can be identified.
