(SSLTYPE=unix because I need both standard port 143 access locally and SSL for remote access: this is working fine on MacOS X 10.2 Jaguar))
I can connect fine via 143 but it doesn't authenticate login:
[theodora:~] cb% telnet 192.168.1.8 143
Trying 192.168.1.8...
Connected to 192.168.1.8.
Escape character is '^]'.

. login cb pwd
. NO LOGIN failed
My mail client also gets an invalid account ID or password rejection when trying with SSL.
I must be missing something...?

Hi Tom -
I've already done something similar in the latest imap-2003 development tarball. Could you make sure that ftp://ftp.cac.washington.edu/mail/imap-2003.DEV.tar.Z builds properly for you using the new "oxp" port ("OSX with PAM")?
The reason why I spawned a new port is that I am concerned that the PAM version might not build under the previous version.
Thanks,
