Xerces-C++ uses a really basic subset of C++ and I believe any future version of GCC will compile it out of the box unless there are some serious bugs in the compiler. As for Fedora, I am pretty sure Xerces works on it just fine. Otherwise we would have heard a lot of complaints on the mailing lists ;-).
