What you call bugs the GCC team calls "standards compliance". I know for a
fact that a recent compiler rev (to 4.x) broke Xerces 2.7.0. This was fixed
in 2.8.0, I believe, but it illustrates the point.

You'd be surprised. When you add 64 bitness and the bleeding edge Fedora
versions, you can find some pretty small niches.
