 If you are talking about an embedded system, this is hardware that is
 used as controller for other hardware, like a car, a nuclear reactor,
 a digital mixer, or whatever. The computer hardware typically doesn't
 use an operating system like Windows. Programming for such hardware is
 different than programming in C on a 'hosted' system like your PC,
 since you will typically have much more limited memory, no filesystem,
 and in many cases, a reduced instruction set.
