You probably don't want to work for that company then. Questions like that should send up red flags. Interviews are a two-way street. You have to decide if you want to work for a company just as much as they want to decide if they want to hire you. My answer to the question would probably be "Why would I ever need to do that? Any possible solution is going to produce compiler, platform, or architecture-specific code. Can I see some code that is currently in production that does precisely what you are asking for?" If they show you such code, you probably won't want to work there. Ever.
