I don't know about the first book but the latter ones probably do a
decent job covering over the first author's mistakes.

A medical firm, huh? The medical industry tends to be a very red-tape
environment. At least here in the U.S. All sorts of regulations and
procedures to make sure quality code leaves the door. Medical equipment
generally has embedded software that has to be able to run 24/7 in all
sorts of scenarios.

However, since you mentioned Windows, it sounds like it is more along
the lines of a doctor/patient management system.

Two bits of advice: Don't necessarily take the job just because it may
pay well. Don't overlook anything "odd" during the interview as
unimportant.

Your best bet for finding a job is to apply everywhere. That way you
will potentially have multiple offers. If you get into THAT scenario,
then YOU get to choose which offer to accept. That is an excellent
scenario to have. Don't worry about being rejected left and right.
Employers need employees all the time. You're bound to find something
you like that you're a good fit for.
