The greek letter for Sigma? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma_%28letter%29 Summation of the output of a formula for a given range: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summation For the most part, programming requires a good understanding of logic. Those with a heavy math or philosophical background tend to already think logically and make good candidates for jobs. In fact, I know of at least one business who has hired philosophy majors fresh out of college for IT programming positions who had never written a line of code before. They were chosen because "programmers carry a lot of baggage and we want to indoctrinate new hires into our way of doing things" (obviously, they were trained on the job). -- Thomas Hruska CubicleSoft President Ph: 517-803-4197 *NEW* MyTaskFocus 1.1 Get on task.
