Dear Andrew, 1. Currently using Dev-C++ 4.9.9.2: works superbly fine.
Spurred by curiosity, downloaded now what you suggested, wxDev-C++ 6.10.2, what, in thesis, would be a better version, but regrettably it doesn't compile even my merest 1.cpp. What am I missing? 2. Where can I download Visual C++ 5.0 from, as a single bundle, to be installed as many times as I want or need. The Microsoft site provides an installer that takes eons to transfer: gave up. If something goes wrong with the installation, have to go all over again, so an offline executable would be ideal.
