MSVC 5.0 is ancient.  MSVC 6.0 was released 10 years ago.

Get Visual C++ Express 2008.  http://www.microsoft.com/express/  Use a
download manager (eg. DownThemAll for Firefox, or Wget...)

Scroll to the bottom of the page and to the section named Offline
Install.

You can mount it as a drive letter sing MagicDisc:

Or just burn it to a disc (with Nero Burning ROM for eg.) and run the
installer from there.
