Hello I'm trying to build Xerces 3.0 on HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800 and would like to know what is the difference between the static and shared libraries? And why would I choose one over the other? Since the configure has --disable-shared and --disable-static options, I'm not sure which one needs to be loaded.
Also, I don't have gmake on our system. Can I still build with HP-UX make utility? Thanks in Advance DeWayne
