Hello Julian, I have tested both mail_gateway and fetchmail modules with latest trunk addons. I couldn't find the said errors. It is very unusual to get such error because the message-id for any email is always unique. So in case a mail doesn't have message-id then we're forcefully generating a random id for that message.
IMHO, this shouldn't be considered as bug. I will suggest you to test again with latest code and do inform us so that we can close this bug. Error I get in log is WARNING:imap:expected string or buffer Just before hand I get :- INFO:imap:fetchmail start checking for new emails on comms [2010-08-04 09:23:54,490] INFO:mailgate:Message without message-id, generating a random one: 1280913834.49 Not sure if relevant or not. Obviously talking to our mail server ok, but not reading emails. I can get mail successfully when running against my Fastmail account running IMAP, so my installation does work fine for other ISPs.
