Hello Although I agree the situation is somewhat unlikely, it did happen to us. ie an email that was corrupt caused an issue where other mails couldn't be downloaded at all. The problem wasn't obvious either, as the email causing the problem was not easily seen.
Chris has much more in the way of technical details but has been very busy recently, so hasn't had a chance to respond. Error I get in log is WARNING:imap:expected string or buffer Just before hand I get :- INFO:imap:fetchmail start checking for new emails on comms [2010-08-04 09:23:54,490] INFO:mailgate:Message without message-id, generating a random one: 1280913834.49 Not sure if relevant or not. Obviously talking to our mail server ok, but not reading emails. I can get mail successfully when running against my Fastmail account running IMAP, so my installation does work fine for other ISPs.
