Hi again Vincent and wannabe committers! Vincent Massol wrote: > > All these [VOTE] issues are great, but I'm afraid you are the only > > committer in the Commons-Cactus subproject. Ok, it's good to know there are more people in case you should convert to anti-computerism :) > 2/ I intended to have everyone interested to vote (including non-commiters) > because you are right, there are not enough committers to be meaningful. Then, according to the rules in Jakarta land, they are rather [POLL] issues. Not to be picky, it's just that the [VOTE] stuff is intimidating at first sight. > 3/ Of course I'd like to bring in reinforcement ... In fact, I'd like to wait until I send some contributions. There are a couple of reasons for it: - You are exposing your prestige with this. Your code is great, and you level of commitment is even better. But if you bring folks around who cannot end a line with a ; for their lives, it'll suffer. Now, I can end lines with a ; and I think myself I'm a great developer, but honestly you should wait to see the code I produce. And the level of commitment you can expect from me varies according to my day job; perhaps it's not enough to be a committer. - Everyone who joins the group must like the way Jakarta works, but seen from the inside. I don't know this, and cannot know until I send contributions and/or patches. Afterwards, I'll be happy to join the group if you see it fit. In fact, right now in my day job I'm developing a mock-object implementation for EJB access, we need it urgently. I don't know yet if it will work, but it's very funny! :) Un saludo, Alex.
