Vincent,
I am getting the exact same error as Sam (NoSuchMethodError from
setAttribute()). I just downloaded jakarta-cactus-23-1.2 and tried to run
the samples, all the while following the guide at
http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/howto_sample.html
<http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/howto_sample.html> . My answers to the
questions you asked Sam on Sunday:
>>1/ Do you have Ant installed ? Have you downloaded the prepackaged Ant
install from the Cactus web site ?
$ ant -version
Ant version 1.4.1 compiled on October 11 2001
This is the original version of Ant, not the cactus prepackaged version. I
have the optional jar installed and in my classpath.
>>2/ Have you downloaded Tomcat and unzipped it in a directory ? (no need to
configure anything at all) ?
Yes. I am running 4.0.1
>>3/ What have you downloaded from Cactus web site (exact name of file) ?
I downloaded jakarta-cactus-23-1.2.zip last Thursday.
>>4/ Have you unzipped it in a directory, let's say [CACTUS] ?
>> Have you created a [CACTUS]/build/build.properties (by copying and
editing [CACTUS]/build/build.properties.sample ?
I've done both of these.
Google led me to this thread about getting NoSuchMethodErrors from
StandardSession.setAttribute()

I'm using JDK 1.3. What about you Sam? This seems ridiculous though,
considering that I'm using session.setAttribute() throughout my code
elsewhere.
Any help you can provide will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Ryan
