Size is not the issue for JRE. At present Swing/AWT still links with Motif libraries on Solaris as opposed to Gtk on Linux. Since Solaris Motif is closed and non-redistributable this makes a Java GUI non-functional on Indiana. The solution is for libawt and friends to either link with Gtk or OpenMotif on Solaris.
