Hi all, What should I do if I want to preserve my home when I install indiana? The old installer for Nevada support preserve and is there any plan to implement this in the installer for indiana?
If not, assume I have a hard drive and installed indiana 2008.05 using the whole space. Now I want to re-install my box but do not want to lose my home. Can I create a new ZFS fs in the existing pool, copy my home to the new fs ,do the re-install and, after the installation, copy my home back(or do something smarter)? This method would have problem if we have only one pool and we have to destory it. I am not very sure. Someone told me so. And I do not know how many pools will be created by the installer for the indiana and if the installer will destroy them in a fresh install.
