If you can figure out: * how to get about a hundred megabytes (I'm guessing here) of temporary space * which packages are part of the live cd that won't be part of the installed system * which "unpackaged" files are on the live cd that won't be part of the system * which packages are to be installed into the image ...then you can get a reasonably close aggregate install size. Once these three things happen in pkg(5): * SAT solver integration * new Catalog format integration * api addition to get operation sizes I want to be clear that I wasn't trying to suggest that the functionality you're trying to have isn't useful or possible, but it is very difficult given the network-based install angle + the cpio image of the live media. If this was a giant install dvd (not live media) and you weren't performing a network-based install, things would be different... Cheers, -- Shawn Walker
