Hi Matt,

You mentioned that you to run GNOME on your SPARC system.
I just want to point out that only 1 SPARC frame buffer is support in 
OpenSolaris
at this time.  So, depending on whether the frame buffer on your system 
is supported,
you might or might not be able to use GNOME.

See the OpenSolaris HCL to find out whether your hardware is supported.
