I believe that in this particular case, it is feasible to completely
get rid of /etc/nodename and use SMF property as the only one back end storage - i.e. follow the same approach which is currently being taken for /etc/default/kbd (CR <http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6944480>6944480 - move keyboard configuration from /etc/default/kbd to SMF).

I can see that it might not be possible to do that in one step, since
necessary processes have to be followed and the transition should be made easier for customers, but it seems unnecessary to keep that file hanging around for longer
time than really needed.
