It is a pkg(5) requirement, not an AI requirement. You should list
multiple publishers with the same name only if they are serving the
same catalog. Otherwise, your results will vary based on search order.

Already changed in build 147.
Ok. Was there a flag day email for this change that I missed, so that
folks would know to change their AI manifests to keep them working?
Or will old manifests with "authname" continue to work for a while?
