Looks quite good and sensible.
One nit that needs to be corrected: in general we should be using
/var/run, not /tmp, for any intermediate storage (logs, manifests, etc.)
so that there is no opportunity for unprivileged interference with the
installation process.
There have also been some RFE's filed about providing better progress
tracking from the console; if those are easy to address while you're
putting up the new application, that would be appreciated.
