Hi Scott,

Looking in the AI guide, I see that I can specify SVR4 packages
for installation in the <add_drivers> section.
Also, looking in the software.dtd, it looks like I can specify,
in general, other things besides just IPS packages for
installation - FILE, DIR, SVR4 in particular.
Those tags are defined, and if you have a manifest that specifies
those tags, it might even get accepted.
However, they are not currently used/interpreted by AI. We are
working on updating the AI to
the new install infrastructure. When that work is completed, we
might be able to support the other tags.
Not the answer I hoped for, but the one that explains what I have
been seeing.
Some of these might be quite handy. For example, if I could just
install a file directly, that would give me the finish script hook
that Dave Miner and I were discussing a week or so ago. I could
install a file directly into /etc/rc3.d/S99finishscript and it would
run. I understand that that is gross and contrary to the design and
intent, but it might be something that would be well used.
Thanks for the clarification!

Thanks,

How can I use these? Where are these documented? Looks like it
these could be really helpful.
