Mick:

What build is your AI server running ? Is it running snv_151a ???

With the client that you try to install, is it a sparc or x86 client ???

We had AI server running snv_151a and we always modified our default.xml to
point to a different IPS repo. We never had issues that the client got the
wrong default.xml after modification.

Can you get the output of /tmp/ai_sd.log and /tmp/ai_combined.xml for further
examination ???

Alta,

I ran a create client after I modified the default.xml amd the ai_manifest.xml
i didn't try any customisation at this stage.
I understood rightly or wrongly that you could just use the defaults and didnt
need to add manifests this could be wrong.
The client still boots and tries for the pkg.oracle as the source for
image-create.
thanks Mick

Did you add-manifest after you modified default.xml?
