Hi everyone, especially Takeshi-San and Dave.
Here is a webrev to get the localized install manpages pushed to
slim_source. Please review by Friday lunchtime PST.
Webrev:
https://cr.opensolaris.org/action/browse/caiman/schwartz/7074358_1
Bug report:
http://monaco.us.oracle.com/detail.jsf?cr=7074358
Changes I made since the in-process review a few weeks ago:
1) installing to usr/share/man/ja_JP.UTF-8/... instead of .../ja_JP.UTF8
(note the dash between UTF and 8)
Yes, UTF-8 is appropriate.
Previous webrev was using UTF8? Sorry I might missed that
at that time.
2) Removing ai_manifest.4 since those localized manpages are not going
to be delivered to this release.
Manpages themselves come from localization team. No need to review
those, but please review packaging and Makefiles.
I verified that Japanese (ja_JP) and Chinese (zh_CN) manpages are
installed to the right place.
Takeshi-San,
1) As I was preparing the final webrev, it occurred to me that I might
need links to files under /usr/share/man/zh_CN.UTF-8 from
/usr/share/man/zh_SG.UTF-8
(e.g. ln -s /usr/share/man/zh_CH/man1m/installadm.1m
/usr/share/man/zh_SG/man1m/installadm.1m)
If I do need these links please let me know ASAP. I will add them to
the pkg manifests and respin the webrev as soon as I hear from you. I
want to get this resolved and this push completed before the Monday 10AM
PST deadline for B173 pushes to slim_source.
Per-file symlinks should not be needed; having a directory symlink from
zh_SG.UTF-8 to zh_CN.UTF-8 will suffice as /usr/share/locale/zh_SG.UTF-8
is doing similar, but your each package don't have to have it.
I'll care it in some core l10n package.
Thanks,
Takeshi
Dave,
Probably a formality at this point but for the record please bless for
pushing to a restricted build.
Thanks,
Jack
