I am trying to work out why simply switching from Automatic to static
networking (using the supplied static_network.xml example) only
partially works.
It creates the network interface and the network is accessible, but DNS
does not work correctly.
ie nslookup does not find host entries
server lists the servers correctly but any lookups fail
one thing I have noticed is that there is inconsistent use of single
quotes vs double quotes for the various element values in the xml file.
does this matter, and could it contribute to what I am seeing?
