offtopic: how do you include my reply in your posts? I don't see a quote button/link anywhere.
ontopic: I had read that wiki article as one of the very first articles on mvc. So today I tried googling mvc for dummies and came up with a few okay links, but nothing that really changed my understanding of mvc. If anything, one link reaffirmed my stance that the hide() and unhide() methods should really be in the controller instead of the model, since it relates to saving a change to the model. At the same time, that very same article pointed out that in simple applications, a developer may gain from combining the model and the controller to some degree. So I guess it boils down to a design decision on the part of a developer based on what they're trying to accomplish. As an additional resource to anyone else who is interested in this topic, the most straightforward link I found on this topic come from apple: http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ObjCTutorial/chapter02/chapter_2_section_3.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
