Here is an example of clicking on a row and it creates a new row. What you would do is first make the HTML code to make it work. Make a link that would create the number of rows you want based on the link. So, maybe it is a URL passed parameter. Then, after the HTML works then try to AJAXify it using datagrid or something else. I would just make an update div that would add a new line.
