Hi Dieter, Capistrano seems to be a good choice as long as you can get past having to use Ruby and jump through some minor Rails hoops to get it working. Here at work we're going to start using Capistrano for deployment. The other developer here has been working with it and after many stops and starts he's seemed to have figured it out. Here are some links for using Capistrano to deploy PHP apps: http://www.whomwah.com/2006/05/21/deploying-wordpress-using-capistrano/ http://www.nubyonrails.com/articles/2006/03/09/using-capistrano-with-perl-or-php http://www.simplisticcomplexity.com/2006/8/16/automated-php-deployment-with-capistrano It's really all about using the right tool for the right job, and nevermind the technology it's using. -- Chris Hartjes "The greatest inefficiencies come from solving problems you will never have." -- Rasmus Lerdorf @TheBallpark - http://www.littlehart.net/attheballpark @TheKeyboard - http://www.littlehart.net/atthekeyboard --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
