Changing the Database

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if there's a way to make my app use a different database from the default and keep using it until I specify otherwise?
I know $useDbConfig will let me change it for a particular model, but I need to switch the database and make it stay like that across many controllers until I specify otherwise.

Any ideas?
