Ok, first of all you still have to understand that IE is the most used
browser, not IE7. IE has the market share, not IE7. Don't underestimate how
IE got its popularity: by making it free, and most importantly, LETTING
PIRATE users use it without any hazards.

The truth is that out of the US most of IE installations are included on
illegal versions of Windows. IE7 requires you to have a valid windows xp
license.

Furthermore, IE7 (read its blog) has still some things that are not certain
that will remain as is. For example, SSL warnings (as discussed on IE7 blog)
are coming and going, depending on which IE7 update you install. It will
take some time (probably until February 2007) until IE7 stabilizes what
quirks will work, and which won't. Take the famous "IE holy hack"; they are
still on the battle as weather to bring it back on.

On another note, I use IE7. CakePHP website didn't look so well one month
ago or so for IE7, but it is looking much better now.

But the most important statement I wanted to make is that CakePHP, as any
other self respected open source project, is the work of a community. So if
you are a member of the community and you see HOW to fix some of those
issues you mention, it would be nice that you drop the Cake team a hint
instead of requesting it to be fixed.

It is not a matter of "this guys developing"; it should be a matter of "we
are all developing."

I see, i just figured that these guys are developing technology for the
web and they cant even get their own website to work on one of the
worlds most used browsers. I'm not pointing the finger or trying to
blame anyone, how hard can it be to throw in an IE conditional
statement to detect ie7 and used a different css file?

I think cakes website will be the first impression most cake newbies
get and if it doesnt render in their browser it may just well turn them
off no matter whos fault it is.
