CakePHP is far from dead. Have been hearing about since a few years now ;-)
Not a flame bait but anyone here remembers Lithium?

The dev team is busy putting finishing touches to version 3.0 which
promises to be a huge leap. I will confess that I did wander over to
Laravel land but I am back. There are several things which are pretty cool
in Laravel but a lot of things just require too much work. I am seeing a
lot of what I loved in Laravel already available in V3.0 dev preview

Also the biggest for me - there are very few Laravel jobs out there at the
moment and things do not seem to have changed from November to now.

Cheers
Tarique
