It seems to me that a few individuals are mis-understanding our words and have a general mis-understanding of trademark policy. We are solely trying to prevent confusion as to the source of products and services represented by the CakePHP logo or name. I am working on an official trademark policy that will be posted in the next few days on the Cake Software Foundation website. It will be largely based on the policy used by the Mozilla Foundation. But the more I have to do this, the less I have time to work on the thing that matters most, CakePHP. I would prefer everyone play nice and get along. This is a community built on the trust of everyone to do their part. Being a valuable member of the community means you care about CakePHP, not so you can use it for yourself, but so others can use it and enjoy it with you. @Mullet Trademark and Copyright are two seperate issues. The MIT license covers the copyright on the code. If you understand what the MIT license means you will realize that this is the greatest freedom we can provide to you. The CSF could have chosen a number of other licenses, but we chose MIT for the reason that we want people to have the freedom to write and enjoy good code without having to worry about legal issues. Our choices and goals have not changed.
