Well, mod_rewrite is the only way to get those pretty URL's and,
honestly, I haven't had too many problems getting Cake apps to work.
Biggest problem is making sure that your constants in
webroot/index.php are set correctly if you have your Cake libs outside
of where your app is.

Still don't know why you'd hack the dispatcher to fix a problem that
lots of other people seem to have solved without doing so.
