Well. That tutorial doesn't really show anything to do with the inline editing you are asking about. Langdon is right, it's not automated but it really isn't that hard to do with cake, using some ajax helpers.
I've done this kind of thing, and I'd say it was one of the simpler things to implement. Though, automation is nice, and having automation for this kind of thing might be useful, there are alot of harder parts that will take much more of your time.
